Anxiety and stress exist along a spectrum of intensity, from a subtle inability to relax to panic attacks.The sensations and feelings they create are unpleasant, exhaust us, and cause difficulty relating to others.

A result of persistent and excessive anxiety is we become used to its effects and not notice it unless we unexpectedly over-react or it is pointed out.

I can help you develop a practical awareness of anxiety as it builds up when triggered. As we work together to explore the underlying cause and reduce the anxiety response, it can feel like a weight is being lifted.

Below are listed some of the symptoms associated with anxiety and stress:

  • Self-Sabotage.
  • Health – mental and physical problems.
  • Preventing peace of mind.
  • Anger and temperedness.
  • Tensions in relationships, family life and career.
  • Unstable emotional states – angry outbursts or shutting down.
  • Withdrawing from life and avoiding social situations.
  • The inability to sleep well.
  • Addiction to food, alcohol, television, sex, drugs and other distractions to numb or escape from the usually unrecognised pain.
  • Feeling tired and at times suddenly fatigued.
  • Feeling of dread and apprehension.

As with other issues, responses to stress and states of anxiety may have roots in early childhood negative experiences. The problem is reinforced by contributing negative experiences later in life.

Counselling provides the opportunity of release from the issue and, to achieve more enjoyment and peace in life for you.
